The P.G. Bugatti is not just an electric bike; it's a revolution in design and technology. The inspiration for this design came from the Bugatti Veyron, the most potent of all race sports cars. Every detail of this electric bike has been crafted to perfection, mirroring the quality and finesse of its inspiration.
What sets the P.G. Bugatti apart from other electric bikes is its unique properties. It's the lightest in the world, weighing only 8 kilos. The frame is a monocoque structure made from autoclave carbon, integrating all electric components seamlessly. The lights are cleverly integrated into the stem and seat post, and instead of a chain, the bike features a belt drive. These distinctive features give the bike a holistic design approach.
The P.G. Bugatti was realized using the Carbon Autoclave method and Monocoque technology. The bike measures 175 cm x 44 cm x 91 cm. The design team, including Diavelo, Custom Creations, Max Moto, and Bugatti, used a wind tunnel to optimize the bike's aerodynamics. A variety of materials were researched to achieve the perfect strength-to-weight ratio.
The design process took 18 months and involved overcoming several challenges. The most significant challenge was getting the frame right due to the single rear stay frame. The team made 36 different attempts to achieve the right stiffness, durability, and lightness for the frame. The result is a bike that is not only lightweight but also incredibly strong and durable.
The P.G. Bugatti electric bike is a testament to Diavelo's commitment to innovation and design. It's not just a bike; it's a work of art that pushes the boundaries of what's possible in electric bike design. The bike was awarded the Golden A' Vehicle, Mobility and Transportation Design Award in 2018, a testament to its extraordinary excellence and impact on the world of design.
